The Mahal design aesthetic is characterized by flowing, naturalistic floral compositions rendered in a drawing style that balances refinement with the freshness of village production. All-over field designs featuring slowly
spiraling floral vines carrying palmettes, rosettes, and half-palmettes in rhythmic alternation are among the most typical Mahal formats - compositions that achieve a quality of organic, natural abundance perfectly complementing
the warm, earthy tones of the color palette.
Woven on cotton foundations with a medium-length wool pile using the Persian asymmetrical knot, Mahal rugs achieve an excellent balance between surface quality and practical durability. The wool, drawn from local flocks in the
central Persian plateau, possesses the natural luster and resilience characteristic of the region, producing a pile surface with good visual depth and resistance to the wear that comes with active household use over many
