Persian Rugs: Traditional dyeing
Los Angeles Home of Rugs on Mar 21st 2021
Traditional dyeing refers to boiling wool, cotton, or silk spools using natural dyes derived from a group of plants rather than industrial agents and chemicals.
Tabriz has been the center of hand knotted rugs since ancient times, and for this reason, jobs related to rugs are very prosperous. Dyeing is also one of the traditional occupations related to rug weaving.
In the same workshops, craftsmen work with the heat and steam of large boiling pots. They spend their lives dyeing these fabrics following in the footsteps of their ancestors going back around 2 centuries.
