Persian Rugs: Garden design

Los Angeles Home of Rugs on Feb 12th 2021

There is a simple design used in rugs woven in the seventeenth century, which is called Garden; it has been known as Pool, which is a central part of this design.

The naturalistic design of a garden full of flowers and water gradually became geometric and undetectable. Water flow has changed into thin lines mostly in the navy. Usually, the design is zigzag inspired from water that makes the design alive. Mass water flow is like a network composed of regular rectangular and sometimes diamond with different compositions.

Each rectangular is adorned with a special and individual design, cedar, weeping willow, bush, flower vases, palm flowers, and various petals, and also images of birds and animals are seen. It has been used especially by Bakhtiari settled in the south of Isfahan, in Chahar Mahal. It is used in Qom, Birjand, and Kerman, too.
