Tribal Persian Weaving: Malleh

Los Angeles Home of Rugs on Jan 29th 2022

Malleh, a special type of cotton in Persia, has long been highly sacred among the Khosfi people, considering it a special blessing of God. It was a forgotten art revived by being inscribed in the national list of Intangible Persian Cultural Heritage. Now, in every house in the villages of Khosf in the South of Khorasan, you can see women engaged in producing beautiful cotton products.
